Founded in 2011, Gristle was built as an artist-led, community-driven space where tattooing and fine art come together in a cruelty-free, community-driven environment. What started as a small Brooklyn studio has grown into a home for thoughtful work, creative expression, and connection for artists all over the globe. Now entering a new chapter under new ownership, we’re excited to continue that legacy in our new space. Join us on Sunday, May 3rd for a special flash day in support of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. 🏴☠️
Our goal is to raise awareness and support ocean conservation efforts in a real, tangible way. Proceeds will go directly toward Operation Antarctica Defense, helping protect whales and Antarctic marine life.

April 2026 - ARMOURED FIGURE DRAWING

Join us for a FREE drawing session featuring a live model in armor. Open to all skill levels, with colored paper and pencils provided. This is an opportunity to meet and mingle with other local artists. No experience necessary! This will be the first figure drawing night hosted at Gristle Tattoo, but we hope to make this a consistent event at the studio as we build a community of artists. :)

Personal Ink (P.ink), a program of Fuck Cancer, is dedicated to empowering women to reclaim their bodies after mastectomies. Through education and connection with experienced tattoo artists who can help, we are committed to ensuring that breast cancer never has to leave the last mark.
P.INK DAYS
Every October tattoo studios across North America close their doors for a day to create free curated healing experiences for recipients who have had mastectomies and are seeking closure through coverage of their scars with beautiful artwork. All tattoos are donated by talented and trained tattoo artists who are experienced in tattooing over scar tissue successfully.

MARCH 2023 - BROOKLYN CAT CAFE
Gristle Tattoo will be raising money for Brooklyn Cat Cafe throughout March.
We will be hosting an in-shop FLASH day on March 29th, where clients can choose from a sheet of discounted designs, as well as offering new feline-themed flash throughout the month. A portion of all proceeds will go directly to Brooklyn Cat Cafe.
Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a volunteer-run adoption center and community space working to reduce animal homelessness through education, TNR and outreach. They are the only non-profit cat cafe in New York City.
